DR. L. P. RAVENSCROFT.

                                                        Floral and Winfield.

 

The following was initiated by RKW years ago...

Winfield Courier, June 12, 1945.  Dr. L. P. Ravenscroft has been active in his profession of medicine in this county for 57 years, 30 in the Floral community, and 27 years in Winfield.

He was amember of the Cowley County Medical association, the Kansas State Medical association and the American Medical association. He was dominant in the work of the Knights of Pythias, both state and local; a past grand chancellor of the Knights of Pythias; and treasurer of the Pythian home board.  Other organizations in which he held memberships are the Presbyterian church, the Odd Fellows, the Masonic bodies, and the Elks.

In the field of politics, he held an unusual record as far as city government is concerned.

He was six times mayor of Winfield. Subsequent to his election as a commissioner of the city, he first was mayor in 1925.
