Dear Old Pal,
Howdy you look well.
How’s your health Mines so damn full of water I don’t dare go swimming
for fear I’ll sink. Been raining all
day. Rains about every other day
here. We think Lester is on his road
home. Been having a hell of a
time. Patching holes in the barn
between showers. Roy was telling me
about the last day of school. He was
the hero and the schoolmarm’s sister was the shero. Roy caught her arm and patted her in blackingn?? She said
she wasn't caught. So he put his arm around he and patted her
again. then of course everyone te-heed. He says she has a keen
form. Better than the schoolmarm. (Bring a scoop) Vera
Pickett sure had me up a stump the other day. One of the boys and she were
throwing B.S. as fast as possible. The boy told her he'd have to get her
a steam shovel. He wouldn't tell her what for but told her to ask
Parker. Well I just had to back down that was to?? Chester Sterling
tore a hole in his breeches in laborting. All the boys got to laughing at
him. Old Vera wanted to know what the joke was. She said, "I
don't see the joke." Bob Cameron said it's not to be seen.
Chet was setting on it. I guess I'll go to K.U. next fall. Hope you
get back before then. If you don't and you can stop off to see me
awhile. Got to quit and go
Your Old Pal
