Dear Clarice,
Recv’d your letter was glad to hear from you. Is sure hot and dry here. Looks like every thing is going to burn up or blow away – nothing but hot winds for two weeks now and not a cloud in sight. The leaves are most all dead or blown off of the trees. Doesn’t look very nice I would not like this kind of weather all of the time Rivers are all most dry. Also a good many wells. But I have pleanty of water so far But do hope it will rain soon. I am glad you like your school work. You have a nice place to stay and go to school. Do you go swimming often? I feel like I would like to go swimming in real hot sulphur water. Robert and Betty are fine. Were here Sunday Robert was called at 5:30 P.M. to go to Peru and bring in a wreck. That was 80 miles 160 miles there and back. He got back at 12.30 midnight. No one was killed. The car was ruined. Lots of wrecks keep the boys busy. To bad Doris and Charles are so far apart. Where does Doris go to school? School started here Sept 8. the 7 was labor day. The Laborless people celebrated I guess because they are being fed without Laboring. Well I must close and write Mattie a few lines. Write Soon your aunt S.A.S.
