New Winfield, Looking North from about 12th. 1872.

I'm not sure this is not looking south, and the hill in the distance is not the highland cemetary hill south of town. Comments??? Also the wagon tracks are on the right which should be the west side on Main Street.

• 3-a1361b.jpg What looked like a horse tank in another print of this same picture, now looks like a small girl moving to the right, turning while she moves. Her face and hair alternate on the print as she whirls and moves. Her belt at her waist draws a nearly continuous dark line. Her feet, which momentarily stay still, can be seen at the bottom. Our Alice seems to be dancing on new, green grass in the street. A land, about which we can truly wonder.

• 3-a1361d.jpg The group at the right may be a man in shirt sleeves, with two sons to our right and his daughter in front of him. The daughter, or wife seems to be standing still for the photo.
• 3-a1361e.jpg The group of men behind the dancing girl. Many seem to be wearing long "duster" white coats. Behind the row of standing men seem to be about four ladies (identified by their white hats) who are seperately sitting in buggies.
