It is said in the Book that when eleven certain men (one had killed himself) received the Good News they were filled with joy and doubt. I believe that such times are upon us - again.
All cultures have histories of renewal and they were turbulent, costly, and necessary. Every account is of a struggle for power that is not for humans to hold; and every account delivers the simple life back to the patient and hopeful.
This Clamor Seven is written with the intent of showing our human and spiritual connections; our foibles and foolishness, and the rock-strewn paths that we have built for ourselves.
Keep faith: all roads lead Home.
I have learned a new word: wasicu. Actually I
have seen it used before but an online friend was
kind enough to tell me the meaning.
Here you go: wasicu "he who takes the fat."
I love it. Wasicu. I am pronouncing it
wa sic you with the emphasis on the "you." As in,
"Wasicu and the horse you rode in on."
Not to be used in polite company, but it needs
to be said.
It applies to:
Wasicu is the Lakota word for "white man."
It's just not accurate anymore.
"The correct pronunciation is wah-see'-chew
I have seen that modern derivation of "fat stealer", but I have also
been told it just means "white man" with no derogation as such.
My Lakota step mom calls me wasicu witkotkoka, goofy acting white man,
when she is in a good mood. She calls me "brain dead" when I forget
something, like leaving the lawnmower outside.
I think like "beligana", wasicu can take on a secondary meaning."
Thank you Jason.
Now that we are all friends:
A Native American named Choquosh Auh-ho-oh was recently
summoned by a prestigious group of Hopi elders (she's not Hopi, but
some other tribe). They told her they have a message for her to share.
They said, "You've been telling people the 11th hour is approaching.
Tell them it is here, and there are things to be considered."
They gave her a 10-point Hopi Checklist to
consider:
On February 6, 1999, the world lost one of its leading messengers, for
nonviolence and the spiritual reawakening necessary to change the course
of human history off of the path towards total destruction and onto the path towards true peace and harmony among all life, with the passing of 89 year old Hopi Prophecy spokesman Thomas Banyacya.
Inspired by the great Hopi Elder Yukiuma whom he regarded as "The Hopi
Gandhi", Banyacya spent seven years in prison in the 1940's because of his steadfast conscientious objection to registering for military service.
After the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki was seen by the Hopi
spiritual leaders as a fulfillment of their ancient prophecies about "the gourd of ashes falling on the Earth two times", in December of 1948, those leaders from the various Hopi villages and religious societies met for the first time in history to compare their previously secret knowledge as per their ancient instructions handed down through the generations.
Banyacya was commissioned at that meeting to bring to the outside world the Message of Peace and the warnings for humanity revealed at this meeting. For the rest of his life he firmly held true to this commitment, despite hardships and criticisms, and traveled widely to carry their message and in the process helped to inspire the revival of the traditional Indigenous American cultures over the past decades.
Devoting himself totally to this mission, he still lived a simple
lifestyle and he and his family survived as best they could in the
traditional ways with some help from the minimal donations of people
who supported his work.
Banyacya felt that his life's mission was fulfilled, after decades of
unsuccessful attempts, when he was able to bring the Hopi message and
spokesmen to the United Nations (the "house of mica" predicted by the Hopi prophecies) to deliver their messages in 1992 and 1993 in the context of the gathering of global indigenous leaders who came on the occasion of the United Nations designation of 1993 as the International Year of the World's Indigenous Peoples and 1995-2004 as the International Decade of the World's Indigenous Peoples.
His message was simple yet still inscrutable to the mind of "Western
Civilization", that all of the problems of modern society are rooted in an error in human thinking clouded by attachments to the world of material comforts and that to solve all of these problems we only have to reawaken spiritually to the innate human/spiritual relationship to all life as our relations, and to all people as one human race.
He was convinced that the simple spiritually focused lifestyle is the
only one which will survive in these times of increasing wars, violence
and even
natural disasters
brought on by this error in human thinking. His life was an inspiration, for so very many people, to respect the ancient wisdom of the traditional indigenous cultures of our beloved Mother Earth.
Decades before scientists recognized the currently evident signs of global climate change he was warning that the actions of industrial society would bring on the calamities we now see all around the world with increasingly devastating storms, earthquakes, etc. Society would be well advised to heed this wisdom and take action before it is too late.
Included below is one of his landmark documents, within which is coded the essence of the traditional teachings of the message of peace, which he called
"The Hopi Declaration of Peace".
If one were to meditate on its deepest significance the simplicity of
the message of peace, and how to implement it, will become clearer.
Also included below is a document called
"The Essence of Hopi Prophecy"
composed by someone in consultation with the Hopi Elders whom Banyacya
represented as their traditional messenger.
The greatest tragedy of his passing is that the many documents he has
produced and accumulated over the years have not yet reached general public attention, but with the capability of the internet today perhaps his wife and children will get the help that they need to bring out these teachings into this realm of modern communications. They may still be reached as:
It is in the Power of the True Hopi People to unify the minds and spirits of all true peace seeking peoples of the earth...
"Hopi" means "Peaceful People"... and the truest and greatest power is the strength of Peace...because Peace is the Will Of The Great Spirit...
But do not think that just because the True Hopi People have been told by the Great Spirit never to take up arms... that the True Hopi People will not fight... even die for what we know to be the right way of Life.
The True Hopi People Know how to fight without killing or hurting...
The True Hopi People Know how to fight with Truth and Positive Force
In The Light Of The Great Spirit...
The True Hopi People Know how to Educate by clear thoughts... good
pictures...and by carefully chosen words...
The True Hopi People Know how to show to all the world's Children the True Way of Life by setting an example... by working and communicating in a way that reaches the minds and hearts of all people who are truly seeking the methods of a simple and spiritual Life which is the only Life that will survive...
The True Hopi People preserve the sacred knowledge
about the way of the earth because the True Hopi People
know that the Earth is a living...growing person...and all
things on it are her children...
The True Hopi People Know how to show the Right Way of Life to all the
world's people who have ears to listen... who have eyes to see... and who have hearts to understand these things...
The True Hopi People Know how to generate enough Power to link up the
forces of the Minds and Spirits of all the True Children of the Earth ... and to Unify them with the Positive Force of the Great Spirit so that they may put an end to affliction and persecution in all afflicted places in this world...
The true Hopi People declare that Hopi Power be a force
which will bring about world change.
Thomas Banyacya
The entire Hopi Prophecy usually takes many days to tell, and many
life times to fully understand. This is a short summary of essential
points.
The Balance of Life
As caretakers of life we affect the balance of nature to such a degree
that our own actions determine whether the great cycles of nature bring
prosperity or disaster. Our present world is the unfoldment of a pattern
we set in motion.
Our divergence from the natural balance is traced to a point preceding the existence of our present physical form.. Once we were able to appear and disappear at will, but through our own arrogance we took our procreative powers for granted and neglected the plan of the creator. As a consequence we became stuck in our physical form, dominated by a continual struggle between our left and right sides, the left being wise but clumsy, and the right being clever and powerful but unwise, forgetful of our original purpose.
The Cycle of Worlds
This suicidal split was to govern the entire course of our history through world after world. As life resources diminished in accord with the cycles of nature, we would try to better our situation through our own inventions, believing that any mistakes could be corrected through further inventions.
In our cleverness, most of us would lose sight of our original purpose,
become involved in a world of our own design, and ultimately oppose the
order of the universe itself, becoming the mindless enemy of the few who
would still hold the key to survival.
In several previous worlds the majority have advanced their technology in this way, even beyond what we know today. The consequent violations against nature and fellow humans caused severe imbalances which were resolved in the form of war, social disintegration and natural catastrophe.
As each world reached the brink of annihilation, there remained a small
minority who had managed to live in nearly complete accord with the infinite plan, as implied in the name, Hopi. Toward the final stages they would find themselves beset with signs of disintegration within, as well as enticing offers and severe threats from without, aimed toward forcing them to join the rest of the world.
Our Present World
Our common ancestors were among the small group who miraculously
emerged from the last world as it reached its destruction, though they too were tainted with corruption. The seeds of the crisis we face today were brought with us when we first set foot in this world.
Upon reaching our present world, our ancestors set out on a long migration to meet the Great Spirit in the form of Maasauu, the caretaker of this land and all that lives upon it. They followed a special pattern, however a very serious omen made a separate journey necessary, in order to balance the extreme disorder anticipated for the later days.
The True White Brother
A Hopi of light complexion, now known as the "true white brother," left the group and travelled in the direction of rising sun, taking with him a stone tablet which matches a similar tablet held by one of those who went on to meet Maasauu at a place called Oraibi, where the present Hopi villages were established according to his instructions.
The Hopi anticipated the arrival of a race of lightskinned people from the east, predicting many of their inventions , which would serve as signs indicating certain stages in the unfoldment of the pattern the Hopi had studied from antiquity.
It was clearly foreseen that the visitors, in their cleverness, might lose sight of their original purpose, in which case they would be very dangerous. Still the Hopi were to watch for one who has not left the spiritual path, and carries the actual stone tablet.
The Swastika and the Sun
Through countless centuries the Hopi have recalled in their ceremonies the previous worlds, our emergence to the present world, and our purpose in coming here. Periodically they have renewed their vow with Maasauu to
live the simple, humble way of life he laid out for them, and to preserve the balance of nature for the sake of all living things. The knowledge of world events has been handed down in secret religious societies who keep watch as each stage unfolds.
The leaders watched especially for a series of three world-shaking events, accompanied by the appearance of certain symbols that describe the primordial forces that govern all life, from the sprouting of a seed to global movements such as weather, earthquakes, migrations and wars.
The gourd rattle is a key symbol. A gourd signifies seed force. The shaking of the gourd rattle in ceremonies means the stirring of life forces. On the rattle are drawn the ancient symbols of swastika, showing the spirals of force sprouting from a seed in four directions, surrounded by a ring of red fire, showing the encircling penetration of the sun's warmth which causes the seed to sprout and grow.
The first two world-shaking events would involve the forces portrayed by the swastika and the sun. Out of the violence and destruction of the first, the strongest elements would emerge with still greater force to produce the second event. When the actual symbols appeared it would be clear that this stage of the prophecy was being fulfilled.
The Gourd Full of Ashes
Eventually a "gourd full of ashes" would be invented, which if dropped from the sky would boil the oceans and burn the land, causing nothing to grow there for many years. This would be the signal for a certain Hopi to bring out his teachings in order to warn the world that the third and final event would happen soon, and that it could bring an end to all life unless people correct themselves and their leaders in time.
Hopi leaders now believe the first two events were the first and second
world wars, and the "gourd full of ashes" is the atomic bomb. After the
bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, teachings formerly kept secret
were compared and released to the world. The details presented here
are part of those teachings.
The Day of Purification
The final stage, called the " great day of purification, " has also been
described as a "mystery egg," in which the forces of the swastika and the sun, plus a third force symbolized by the color red, culminate either in total rebirth, or total annihilation - we don't yet know which, but the choice is ours. War and natural catastrophe may be involved. The degree of violence will be determined by the degree of inequity caused among the peoples of the world and in the balance of nature. In this crisis, rich and poor will be forced to struggle as equals to survive.
That it will be very violent is now almost taken for granted among
traditional Hopi, but man may still lessen the violence by correcting
his treatment of nature and fellow man. Ancient spiritually-based
communities, such as the Hopi, must especially be preserved and not
forced to abandon their wise way of life and the natural resources
they have vowed to protect.
The Fate of Mankind
The Hopi play a key role in the survival of the human race, through their vital communion with the unseen forces that hold nature in balance, as an example of a practical alternative to the suicidal man-made system, and as a fulcrum of world events. The pattern is simple. "The whole world will shake and turn red and turn against those who are hindering the Hopi."
The man-made system now destroying Hopi is deeply involved in similar
violations throughout the world. The devastating reversal predicted in the prophecies is part of the natural order. If those who thrive from that system, its money and its laws, can manage to stop it from destroying Hopi, then many may be able to survive the day of purification and enter a new age of peace. But if no one is left to continue the Hopi Way, then the hope for such an age is in vain.
The forces we must face are formidable, but the only alternative is
annihilation. Still the man-made system cannot be corrected by any
means that requires one's will to be forced upon another, for that is
the source of the problem. If people are to correct themselves and their
leaders, the gulf between the two must disappear. To accomplish this
one can only rely on the energy of truth itself.
This approach, which is the foundation of the Hopi way of life, is the
greatest challenge a mortal can face. Few are likely to accept it. But once peace is established on this basis, and our original way of life is allowed to flourish, we will be able to use our inventive capacity wisely, to encourage rather than threaten life, and benefit everyone rather than giving advantage to a few at the expense of others. Concern for all living things will far surpass personal concerns, bringing greater happiness than could formerly be realized. Then all living things shall enjoy lasting harmony.
PS: Thomas Banyacya also had a poignant sense of humor. When he visited
Santa Barbara in January 1990 for the Rainbow Uprising Campaign events,
while talking to some young people, he observed "I think those people
in the United States Government made some mistakes, and a mistake in
spelling on their dollar bill. When the white people came they went
everywhere digging up the earth to find gold. On the dollar bill it
says 'In God We Trust' but I think that they misspelled that and they
left the 'l' out of 'In Gold We Trust'".
Chief Dan Evehema, 108 years old (or so), has put on the cloud mask and walked the sacred corn meal pathway to the west. January 15, 1999 at sun rise, our beloved eldest elder Dan Evehema, aka known as "Little Dan" left the world of the living to join the Katchinas and be reunited with his wife and family in the underworld.
Grandfather Dan Evehema was considered the Spiritual Leader,
Snake Priest, Society Father, Eldest Elder of the Traditional Hopi Nation, Hotevilla Arizona by all those who knew and loved him. Also co-author of "Hotevilla Shrine of the Covenant" and "Hopi Survival Kit" and co-author of Techqua Ikachi, the Traditional Hopi Newsletter along with many, many other Elders.
Dan Evehema one of the Spiritual Sources behind the Elders' visits to the United Nations and the Hopi Sovereign, Independent Nation along with David Monongye, James Kootz, Grandmother Carolyn, and others. May his spirit soar and the Hopi Seeds of Peace he nurtured multiply in the world.
The Corn fields will mourn the loss of this one, the one they called "Kwa". These Hopi Traditionalists have been keepers of a faith and culture more than 22,000 years old [according to carbon-dated prehistoric rock recordings]. They are the only native people of America [perhaps the world] to have sustained virtually their entire culture, though it is highly threatened today.
Hotevilla reveals the Covenant the great spirit of the Earth made with the Hopi 1,100 years ago and the prophecy that it involved: the Hopi were to understand themselves to be the microcosm of all of humanity and keepers of the world's balance. Time would spiral down toward a climax.
This information was to be released at a special time in History--our time-- when they, their tradition and wisdom would be threatened with extinction which, if it were to happen, would be catastrophic for all of humanity. With his blessings we have the information over the Cob Webs in the Sky and the Hopi Prophecy for you today.
Grandfather Dan's accomplishments and life is something we should all
take to task. Grandfather Evehema has no children of his own, he is survived by his care taker and niece, Susie Lomastka, her children and his adopted Spiritual Granddaughter, DeeSee Mana aka, Katherine Cheshire. Other uncles and relations wish to keep their names private due to political struggles. We all miss him but celebrate his arrival with our relations on the other side.
Hopi Chief Dan Evehema's Message to Mankind
Well, here we go. I have listened to
the denominations and the religions
and the cultures.
The prophecies - when heard with love
in the heart - are promises of hope that
include all of the Creator's children.
Those same prophecies - if heard literally
with fear in the mind - speak of conflicts
that can become Self-fulfilling
doom. That is, doom fulfilled by
Self-centeredness, Self-conciousness,
and just plain old Selfishness.
And so I must address my Christian brothers
and sisters:
We speak of the Body of Christ - and our Bible
tells us that Christ is not divided -
yet many demand their way instead of The
Way.
We are told that the annointing Spirit of
the Creator (Christ) is in us
yet many seek answers outside.
We are told that the kingdom of heaven
comes not with observation, yet many
are waiting for a sign from the sky.
We are told wonderful promises for
"he who overcomes," and many use it
as a battle cry against the neighbor
we are told to love.
There is no one I know who can speak
from the mountain. We all fail daily.
If I understand the Hopi Prophecy
correctly, they are looking for the
True White Brother as an individual.
I would like to put forth another
perspective.
There are messages of hope and the
promise of the unity of all humanity
in every prophecy given to the
Creator's children.
So, I present this for your consideration:
The True White Brother is not one person.
The only True Undividable White
Brother is the Body of Christ; those who
are unified in their hearts by the in-dwelling
Spirit of the Creator.
Comments welcome, but do us both
a favor - pray first.
Mike
What is time to the Creator? Just an invention to
challenge the children. We spend more time counting
trees than enjoying the walk through the woods.
But, curious creatures that we are, knowledge requires
an ongoing workforce to count the beans and place them
in their proper little pigeonholes.
Evolution is the subject and the Arizona Board of Education
has set an agenda and requirements for high school
students to explain the ineffable.
Please don't misunderstand me; I enjoy the foolish

The new Arizona academic statement:
Sounds like fun to me, though 3.5 billion years seems a tad limiting,
especially using our inflated/deflated money values which show
that a billion ain't what it used to be.
And here is the link to the
Current Standards.
After a two hour debate the Arizona Board of Education
decided to add the word "evolution" to the curriculum.
The vote was six to three.
One board member stated resentment that many consider
the term evolution as "Godless."
The word itself has been avoided and the 1996 Arizona academic standards
instead used the description "how organisms change over time in terms of biological adaptation and genetics" to be included in
high school biology classes.
The fine line is that religion says "Noah's flood" and
science says "a great flood."
The tiny words "a" and "the" have certainly spawned many
debates, and some denominations base their beliefs on
prepositions.
EDITOR'S NOTE: Now that is news to me. Since when have the high schools
included the Bible, or, for that matter, the Quran, or
any of the writings that would lead to communication
with the diverse (yet - in my opinion - common)
beliefs of the brothers and sisters with which we
are to share this planet? END NOTE.
We have added new links to these two books - more to
follow - and they may be found under
religion
on the links pages.
Director of the creationist Interfaith League for Sound Government,
Andrew Cosentino, recommended teaching creationism and giving
this view "equal time." Here is the Interfaith League's
view on our declining society: "Why are so many public school teachers afraid for their lives? Is it because our young as told via the deceptions of evolution that they are animals?"
One more quote from a member of the academic board: "It's the best knowledge that we have available today."
Good - better - best - another can of worms.

Answers below.
About 500 years ago, an explorer named Pedro Alvares Cabral
of Portugal came to Brazil.
He saw a beautiful land rich in timber, minerals, and
fertile soil.
There were five million Indians, with nine hundred tribes,
speaking 1,175 languages. Except for occasional tribal rifts,
these were peaceful people.
We will call the Indians who were compliant to the wishes and
We will call those who resisted the invader/intruders
The Hostiles.
There was no advantage or hope for either group: The
Friendlies died mysteriously of strange new diseases:
Smallpox, measles, yellow fever, influenza, and tuberculosis.
The Hostiles were simply murdered with superior weapons.
Five hundred years later there were now 270,000 survivors of
206 tribes speaking 170 languages.
Bandits in the various guises of miners, ranchers, and developers
pillaged and raped. Land was stolen. Holy men of God had the
unbelieving heathens murdered in the name of
God . . . again. This led to loss of hope in these peoples.
In these modern times one of the greatest tragedies is suicide among the young people.
This genocide had caused disfavor in the world community.
With a big to-do some of the lands were returned to
the people and "safe zones" were created.
But the Brazilian government had to admit that corruption within itself
had allowed government agencies to rob the very people they were to protect.
Infected clothing had been issued and once again
disease spread among the people.
Airplanes and helicopters were used to spray bacteria.
Bounties were offered for the ears of murdered Indians.
Of all the ranchers and other land grabbers who
have committed these atrocities none have been prosecuted.
Did you think it was someone else? It always is.

Papa said, "Well, here is my chance to do what no one else will,
give them a chance to put their money where their mouths are."
With help from TxRose and Saholisso, he began a program called "Bucket Line to the Elders." Now in its second year, "Bucket Line to the Elders" delivers clothes, food, over-the-counter medicine, firewood, and even makes housing repairs to those living on the reservations.
Currently, PapaPossum is helping the Navajo Nation, but others,
including the Shoshone and Ute, who live in Papa's area, are in desperate need. He says, "Any Elder that needs help - if it is within my power - I will do what I can, to help."
PapaPossum hopes to start chapters of "Bucket Line to the Elders" in
each state, making sure that each chapter is self sufficient. All volunteers are welcome, especially children!
"Kids are very important; they can probably do more for us than any
other group can. When kids get involved, they go all out; their enthusiasm is boundless...it spreads like wildfire...the kids and the elders are the future of our Nations. Kids learn from the elders...keeping the spirit alive to hand down to other kids wanting to learn. Besides, if a young one is working for a good cause, then, they have a good reason not to be out on the streets."
And, when children ask what PapaPossum what they can do, he has some
neat ideas! "Bake sales...little raffles of homemade things, like Indian
crafts...collecting aluminum cans for recycling. They could even start a penny drive in their neighborhood!"
PapaPossum is Choctaw, Irish and English, and lives on a disability
pension. Although money is tight, he has a heart of gold, and helps in any way that he can. His actions prove one doesn't need much money to make a difference.

Since 1992 it has been the law in Saudi Arabia
that the earth is flat and that is what is
taught.
OK - so what? So this:
Longitude and latitude have no meaning and for
all we know gravity has been repealed.
With no worlds revolving around worlds
physics and chemistry are unfounded.
Forget quantum physics and stop the
search for the top quark - it's illegal.
All accepted frames of reference have been
eliminated by mandate. Any harmless question
from a curious mind is now a criminal act.
And of course if you tell the joke that
a rocketship is traveling to the sun by night
it will not be funny. And you're under arrest.
We of course know that such a law is
absurd, and it can't happen here.
But it has happened - to the
aboriginal people of this continent -
and the instance is language and tradition.
When something is used or taught over the
centuries it becomes inherent to the
culture that uses this "common understanding."
When another culture or religion tries to
imprint over this imbedded knowledge it
blocks the flow and growth of the peoples.
Fortunately there is a growing resurgence
of tradition and knowledge and someday the
world will be round again.

Egyptian Artifacts in the Grand Canyon
The latest news of the progress of the explorations or what is now
regarded by Scientists as not only the oldest archaeological
discovery in the United States, but one of the most valuable
in the world, which was mentioned some time ago in the Gazette,
was brought to the city yesterday by G.E. Kinkaid, the explorer
who found the great underground citadel of the Grand Canyon during
a trip from Green River, Wyoming, down the Colorado, in a wooden boat,
to Yuma, several months ago.
According to the story related to the Gazette by Mr. Kinkaid, the
archaeologists of the Smithsonian Institute, which is financing the
expeditions, have made discoveries which almost conclusively prove
that the race which inhabited this mysterious cavern, hewn in solid
rock by human hands, was of oriental origin, possibly from Egypt,
tracing back to Ramses.
If their theories are borne out by the translation of the tablets
engraved with hieroglyphics, the mystery of the prehistoric peoples
of North America, their ancient arts, who they were and whence they
came will be solved. Egypt and the Nile, and Arizona and the Colorado
will be linked by a historical chain running back to ages, which
staggers the wildest fancy of the fictionist.
Under the direction of Professor. SA. Jordan, the Smithsonian
Institute
is now prosecuting the most thorough explorations, which will be
continued until the last link in the chain is forged.
Nearly a mile underground, about 1480 feet below the surface, the
long main passage has been delved into, to find another mammoth
chamber from which radiates scores of passageways, like the spokes
of a wheel.
Several hundred rooms have been discovered, reached by passageways
running from the main passage, one of them having been explored are
854 feet and another 634 feet. The recent finds include articles,
which have never been known as native to this country and doubtless
they had their origin in the orient.
War weapons, copper instruments, sharp - edged and hard as steel,
indicate the high state of civilization reached by these strange
people. So interested have the scientists become that preparations
are being made to equip the camp for extensive studies, and the
force will be increased to thirty or forty persons.
"Before going further into the cavern, better facilities for lighting
will have to be installed, for the darkness is dense and quite
impenetrable for the average flashlight. In order to avoid being
lost, wires are being strung from the entrance to all passageways
leading directly to large chambers.
How far this cavern extends no one can guess, but it is now the
belief of many that what has already been explored is merely the
"barracks", to use an American term, for the soldiers, and that far
into the under-world will be found the main communal dwellings of the
families.
The perfect ventilation of the cavern, the steady draught that blows
through, indicates that it has another outlet to the surface.
Mr. Kinkaid was the first wh--e child born in Idaho and has been an
explorer and hunter all his life, thirty years having been in the
service of the Smithsonian Institute. Even briefly recounted, his
history sounds fabulous, almost grotesque:
"First, I would impress that the cavern is nearly inaccessible. The
entrance is 1,486 feet down the sheer canyon wall. It is located on
government land and no visitor will be allowed there under penalty of
trespass.
"The scientist's wish to work unmolested, without fear of the
archaeological discoveries being disturbed by curio or relic hunters.
A trip there would be fruitless, and the visitor would be sent on his way.
"The story of how I found the cavern has been related, but in a
paragraph:
"There are steps leading from this entrance some thirty yards to what
was, at the time the cavern was inhabited, the level of the river. When
I saw the chisel marks on the wall inside the entrance, I became
interested, securing my gun and went in.
"During that trip, I went back several hundred feet along the main
passage till I came to the crypt in which I discovered the mummies.
One of these I stood up and photographed by flashlight. I gathered a
number of relics, which I carried down the Colorado to Yuma, from
whence I shipped them to Washington with details of the discovery.
Following this, the explorations were undertaken.
"The main passageway is about 12 feet wide, narrowing to nine feet
toward the farther end. About 57 feet from the entrance, the first
side-passages branch off to the right and left, along which, on both
sides, are a number of rooms about the size of ordinary living rooms
of today, though some are 30 by 40 feet square.
"These are entered by oval-shaped doors and are ventilated by round
air spaces through the walls into the passages. The walls are about
three feet six inches in thickness. The passages are chiselled or hewn
as straight as could be laid out by an engineer. The ceilings of many
of the rooms converge to a center.
"The side-passages near the entrance run at a sharp angle from the main
hall, but toward the rear, they gradually reach a right angle in
direction.
THE SHRINE:
"The idol almost resembles Buddha, though the scientists are not certain
as to what religious worship it represents. Taking into consideration
everything found thus far, it is possible that this worship
most resembles the ancient people of Tibet.
"Surrounding this idol are smaller images, some very beautiful in form;
others crooked-necked and distorted shapes, symbolical probably, of
good and evil. There are two large cactus with protruding arms, one
on each side of the dais on which the God squats. All this is carved
out of hard rock resembling marble. In the opposite corner of this
cross-hall were found tools of all descriptions, made of copper.
"These people undoubtedly knew the lost art of hardening this metal,
which has been sought by chemists for centuries without result. On a
bench running around the workroom was some charcoal and other material
probably used in the process. There is also slag and stuff similar to
matte, showing that these ancients smelted ores, but so far, no trace
of where or how this was done has been discovered, nor the origin of
the ore.
"Among the other finds are vases or urns and cups of copper and gold,
made very artistic in design. The pottery work includes enameled ware
and glazed vessels. Another passageway leads to granaries such as are
found in the oriental temples. They contain seeds of various kinds.
One very large storehouse has not yet been entered, as it is twelve
feet high and can be reached only from above.
"Two copper hooks extend on the edge, which indicates that some sort of ladder was attached. These grannies are rounded, as the materials of which they are constructed, I think is a very hard cement. A Gary metal is also found in this cavern, which puzzles the scientists, for its identity has not been established. It resembles platinum.
"Strewn promiscuously over the floor everywhere are what people call 'cats eyes,' a yellow stone of no great value. Each one is engraved with the head of the Malay type.
THE HIEROGLYPHICS:
THE CRYPT:
"It is worthy of note that all the mummies examined so far have proved to be male, no children or females being buried here. This leads to the belief that this exterior section was the warriors' barracks.
"Among the discoveries no bones of animals have been found, no skins, no
clothing, no bedding. Many of the rooms are bare but for water vessels. One room, about 40 by 700 feet, was probably the main dining hall, for cooking utensils are found here.
"What these people lived on is a problem, though it is presumed that they came south in the winter and farmed in the valleys, going back north in the summer. Upwards of 50,000 people could have lived in the caverns comfortably. One theory is that the present Indian tribes found in Arizona are descendants of the serfs or slaves of the people, which inhabited the cave. Undoubtedly a good many thousand of years before the Christian era a people lived here which reached a high stage of civilization. The chronology of human history is full of gaps.
"Professor Jordan much enthused over the discoveries and believes that the find will prove of incalculable value in archaeological work.
"One thing I have not spoken of, may be of interest. There is one chamber, the passageway to which is not ventilated, and when we approached it a deadly, snaky smell struck us. Our light would not penetrate the gloom, and until stronger ones are available, we will not know what the chamber contains. Some say snakes, but other boo-hoo'd this idea and think it may contain a deadly gas or chemicals used by the ancients. No sounds are heard, but it smells snaky just the same.
"The whole underground installation gives one of shaky nerves the creeps. The gloom is like a weight on one's shoulders, and our flashlights and candles only make the darkness blacker. Imagination can revel in conjectures and ung--ly daydreams back through the ages that have elapsed till the mind reels dizzily in space."
AN INDIAN LEGEND:
The chief then caused a tree to grow up and pierce the roof of the underworld, and then the people of one heart climbed out. They tarried by Paisisvai (Red River), which is the Colorado, and grew grain and corn. They sent out a message to the Temple of the Sun, asking the blessing of peace, good will and rain for people of one heart. That messenger never returned, but today at the Hopi villages at sundown can be seen the old men of the tribe out on the housetops gazing toward the sun, looking for the messenger. When he returns, their lands and ancient dwelling place will be restored to them. That is the tradition.
Among the engravings of animals in the cave is seen the image of a heart over the spot where it is located.
The legend was learned by W.E. Rollins the artist, during a year spent with the Hopi Indians.
There are two theories of the origin of the Egyptians. One is that they came from Asia; another that the racial cradle was in the upper Nile region. Heeren, an Egyptologist, believed in the Indian origin of the Egyptians. The discoveries in the Grand Canyon may throw further light on human evolution and prehistoric ages.
I have a few more thoughts for you concerning the book: On page 36 figure 11 the shafts that everyone believes are merely air shafts could hold one more clue, I believe they point to the nod or wobble of the planet as outlined on page 57 figure 29. I think they point to the two Twins on one side and Orion and Taurus on the other making the whole Pyramid a balance of sorts. I am not an astronomer but think this is true.
The Constellations travel on the Ecliptic path around the Earth and Orion and The Twins on the Meridian Line. That is why Orion can meet Taurus at some point in time. The spear hits the bull. Also, on page 57 figure 30 shows the times that the actual path meets the path that the Earth would travel if it did not wobble or nod.
The time between this occurance is 2160 years and the next occurance will be in the year 2100. 2160 x 12 = 25,920. If you look at page 55 figure 28 you see that each figure would be equal to 2160 so with the wobble or nod you get half on one side and half on the other and one for the Creator up above or 7 times 7 as the Hopi Myth states.
On the inside back cover I missed an obvious connection with the figure crawling up on the fifth level. He has a prayer feather in his hair as do all young initiates into the Kachina Society. He is the new initiate coming into his time or life.
Figure 41 on page 71 the middle row of figures has the Creator standing on top and I believe that this represents the same thing as figure 28. The five snakes with arrows next to them must represent the five constillations that the Creator will not use as he is using Taurus this time.
Figure 24 has mural of the sixteen men ready to begin there travel down the road of life. If you look closely at the Chinese figures you see that each one has different tatoo...I would be curious to know if in the Chinese religions there were four different fractions or divisions in the beginning? I believe that tatoo's did originate in China but I am not positive of this.....
Thanks again for the page and the connections. Hope it helps me reach my goal on page 66. Thats the plan.
Also, the Lakota plains Indians believe that the White Buffalo
constellation is connected to their religious beliefs. Orion's belt is the backbone of the White Buffalo and Sirius is the end of the tail. A Dr. A. C. Ross wrote a small book called "Mitakuye Oyasin or We are all related" that shows a picture of this constellation on page 169.

Here is the email as it came:
Statement from Joe Chasing Horse:
Mita Kolapi (my friends),
Through constructive measures we will seek the return of the Lakota people to the ceremonial and cultural related sacred lands within these
ceremonial areas of the Lakota Nation's ceremonial hunting grounds.
We do this in order to restore the teachings and ceremonies of the buffalo culture (or Pte-Oyate) Buffalo Nations and their traditional relationship to these lands and the Universe, "So that our people will be whole again" as our Spiritual Leader stated
Upon accepting this great and historical responsibility there have been
several initiatives (with the help of many) put into action.
First and foremost was ceremony, but also on educational and technological levels. These actions will establish the structure and center in which the knowledge of the people will unfold, creating a unified effort towards the beginning of the total restoration of the People, Culture, and Land.
These ongoing annual ceremonies, cultural activities, conferences,
educational forums and research projects will enhance the Lakota people's struggle for their spiritual home as they prepare to empower themselves with this knowledge and enter into the next century. Please involve yourselves in these events on community, national and international levels.
The following are five of many events which we are coordinating throughout this year in preparation for the millenium, the year 2000.
I encourage individuals, groups and nations to engage in collaberations on community, national and international levels through constructive measures to develop a united front to attain the goals and objectives which these initiatives set forth.
I further encourage the creation of a global awareness that all sources of knowledge must come together to assure a future for seven generations to come.
Mitakuye Oyasin
On the 27th, 28th, and the 29th of August all the Huron-Wyandot people
are invited to come together in Ontario near ( Georgian Bay ), the
original homeland of the Huron-Wyandot people.
This historical event will be held in the former Huron-Wyandot village
of Ossossane. This village was the capital village of the Huron -Wyandot
in the early 17th century. This land was also known as Huronia
(Wendake).
This gathering will bring together for the first time since our
dispersals, all of the Huron-Wyandot descendants from the main group
which lived in Huronia until 1649.
Many events are being prepared for this historical gathering. On the
28th, we will have the great entrance of all the Huron-Wyandot villages
chiefs. Many Huron-Wyandot artists will share their skills. Spiritual
ceremonies are planned during this event.
On the second day,( the 29th) another important historical event will be
held, we will bring our grandparents home.
About 500 skeletons of the Huron-Wyandot people, the grandparents of all
our people, that were buried in 1636 by our Huron-Wyandot ancestors and
subsequently dug up by archaeologists in 1948, will be re-buried in
their original Ossuary of Ossossane.
On the same occasion , this Ossuary will be declared as a protected
cemetery by the Ontario Government . Thanks are due to the Royal
Ontario Museum for their agreement to finally return our ancestors
after many years of discussion.
Short history of the Huron-Wyandot :
The Huron-Wyandot customarily changed the location of
their main villages to give the land a chance to rest, to allow the
woods to grow from cuttings, remain fertile, from plantings.
In early 1649, the main Huron-Wyandot villages were situated north of
Toronto. The french named this place where the Huron-Wyandot lived "
Huronia " and the Huron-Wyandot called it " Wendake" ( meaning: the
land of the Wendat people).
There were about 20 villages when the french came into Huronia in the
early 17th century. The capital village was named Ossossane and was
situated in the Bear Nation territory of the Wendat Confederacy.
After 1649, the Huron-Wyandot had to move their main villages, far away
from Huronia to the limit of their territory in the east and the west.
This new migration of the Huron-Wyandot villages was caused by the
disease and civil war among their villages created by the presence of
the french (new ways) and diseases they brought into their land.
After 1649, It was forever changed. It was the beginning of a long,
hard journey for the future generations of the Huron-Wyandot. They never
knew the peace after that time. The migrating Europeans forced them to
move from Michilimakinak to Detroit, then from Detroit to Ohio, then
from Ohio to Kansas and finally one group ended in Oklahoma.
Another group, which had travelled to Quebec in 1650, were removed many times before finally creating their village in Wendake. Many of these
ancestors were adopted into other nations and their descendants today
are residing with them.
This scout's camp is located 5 minutes walking distance to the beautiful beach of Ossossane and a 15 minute drive from the town of Midland, where there are many Museums with exhibits and information about the Huron-Wyandot.
A cruise boat tour of the beautiful Georgian Bay is available to tour
creating a great opportunity to discover the beauty of the original
land of the Huron-Wyandot people.
I, Neeghani Aki Innini (Leading Earth Man), of the Eagle Clan of the
Anishinabe Nation, issue a call to the four directions to those who wish
to join in a gathering the way our Ancient Ones gathered long ago--around
the sacred fires--in ceremony.
I hold a view of sacredness toward our prophets and visionaries of the
past--prophets who foretold the future, but more importantly, who gave a
direction that humankind could follow--one that would help bring peace and
love to the world. Humanity is in need of a vision that could unite us
all.
Vision of the Red People:
We, the Red People, have maintained a close connection to the
land--knowing that our survival as a people depended upon understanding
that all of life is connected--that we are all one with Mother Earth.
With this understanding, we have had global influence reguarding
democracy, health, medicines, foods and in numerous other areas.
The prophets of the past have left us with a vision that can bring unity
to all humankind. The essence of this vision is the understanding of the balance of life: the four quadrants of the Circle of Life. Now, we bring forward this vision which encompasses the positive gifts of all
humanity - to bring unity. Once again, we wish to share a dream - to bring a gift: A vision that can bring unity with all life. This unity is based upon understanding balance in the circle of life--a balance that will bring respect.
This vision transcends all that has divided us from each other and disconnected us from the Creator and Mother Earth. This vision
goes beyond the intellect of the mind and into feeling the spirit of the
Creator's truth. This vision is inclusive of all races of people and we, the Red People, encourage and invite all, to come and share their
teachings and sacred knowledge--as we share ours--in the celebration of
life.
I make this call for this special gathering because I truly believe that
we have reached a time in our spiritual evolution to finally bring the
Four into one. It is time to sit in prayer and ceremony. It is time to
honour the spiritual ancestors of the past who can provide spiritual
direction through their prophecies--direction that we need so badly in our times of darkness.
I had a vision:
As we climb further up the mountain, out of the darkness emerges a people that have allowed their spirits' to be awakened - awakened to the true source of power that will guide and ensure
survival of humanity and the Earth. They become the hope of the future.
These people come from all walks of life, from the four races. Each of
these four races represent the four directions of balance that contribute
a vital part of to the wholeness of the understanding of life and man's
existence. In the centre if the sacred circle (where man has joined as
one) stands the sacred tree and fire representing the Great Spirit. There
is no separation for humanity--only connection to one God, one Creator of
life. Unity is finally reached on the Earth.
The vision changes:
In the centre of the village there are men building a sacred lodge that is
in the shape of a turtle. On the east side of the lodge are elders
sitting around a sacred fire laughing telling stories. I see women
singing and dancing in a circle with the children in the centre full of
laughter and smiles. Up in the sky flies the golden eagle as it watches
over the people.
Peace has finally reached the people of the Earth.
We must come to the Centre of Turtle Island to fulfill our visionary's
prophecy and that of past prophets who spoke of peace, oneness and unity
of all the four races that our Father--Creator put on Mother Earth. We
must gather in true unity as one people proclaiming our love to one
Supreme Power--the Creator and our Mother the Earth.
This gathering will give full evidence that the true message of peace, by all past prophets,
has indeed survived--that their lives have not been given in
vain--bringing their destinies of having peace on Earth fulfilled.
An Oglala Holy Man, of the Lakota Nation, named Crazy Horse went to the
sacred mountain called Bear Butte in the Northern Plains of America in
1871, to seek his vision. This was his vision:
"The Hopi's ancient knowledge and prophecies are warning us through many
signs that we have entered a dangerous period in our lives, that humankind
must return to peaceful ways and halt the destruction of Mother Earth or
we are going to destroy ourselves. All the stages of Hopi prophecy have
come to pass, except for the last: the purification. The intensity of
this purification will depend on how humanity collaborates with Creation.
Already, signs of the days of purification are beginning. For the sake of
Mother Earth, your children and your children's children's action is
needed now."

From the
Oklahoma Indian Times
"It's a good feeling to have your cousins back and setting down at the same
table," said Chief Dee Ketchum of the Delaware Tribe of Indians.
He also presented a friendship blanket and tobacco to the
Delaware Tribe of Western Oklahoma.
Lawrence Snake, President of the Delaware Tribe of Western
Oklahoma, agreed, and said that he wanted better working relationships between the two tribes. "They've been strained for quite some time."
The two tribes were separated during removal days and have
begun to discuss repatriation and cultural issues. Plans are
for a Culture Preservation Committee and to work together
concerning the Native American Grave Protection &
Repatriation Act (NAGPRA).
"I think our ancestors are looking down on us, and are proud that
these two groups of Delawares are trying to carry on our culture," said Joe Brooks, Delaware Tribe of Indians, Councilman.
Chief Ketchum declared "I would like to see
a bonding, a reactivating of participation of both of our tribes in our
culture, supporting each other on governmental issues, language, songs, and
dances."
People are cordially invited to participate in a four day conference
promoting individual and community healing against alcohol and drug abuse.
This conference, known as the Gathering Of Native Americans (GONA)
focuses on the four levels of human growth and responsibility as a means to
alcohol and drug abuse prevention.
With the increase of problems and accidents occurring as a result of
alcohol and drug abuse, this conference provides an opportunity for
anyone attenting to take a step toward eliminating alcohol and drugs
in their lives and/or community.
While the conference focuses on Native American Traditions and Culture,
the methods and techniques covered are applicable and useful to everyone.
This years GONA conference is hosted by the Eastern Shoshone and
Northern Arapaho Tribes and will be held on the Wind River Reservation at

The Phoenix Gazette - April 5, 1909:
Remarkable Finds Indicate Ancient People Migrated From Orient:
I was journeying down the Colorado River in a boat, alone, looking
for
mineral. Some forty two miles up the river from the El Tovar Crystal
canyon, I saw on the east wall, stains in the sedimentary formation
about 2,000 feet above the river bed. There was no trail to this point,
but I finally reached it with great difficulty. Above a shelf, which
hid it from view from the river, was the mouth of the cave.
"Over a hundred feet from the entrance is the cross-hall, several
hundred feet long in which is found the idol, or image, of the people's
g--, sitting cross-legged, with lotus flower or lily in each hand. The
cast of the face is oriental, the carving shows a skillful hand, and the
entire object is remarkably well preserved, as is everything in this
cavern.
"On all the urns, or walls over doorways, and tablets of stone which were found by the image are the mysterious hieroglyphics, the key to which the Smithsonian Institute hopes yet to discover. The engraving on the tablets probably has something to do with the religion of the people. Similar hieroglyphics have been found in southern Arizona. Among the pictorial writings, only two animals are found. One is of prehistoric type.
"The tomb or crypt in which the mummies were found is one of the largest of the chambers, the walls slanting back at an angle of about 35 degrees. On these are tiers of mummies, each one occupying a separate hewn shelf. At the bead of each is a small bench, on which is found copper cups and pieces of broken swords. Some of the mummies are covered with clay, and all are wrapped in a bark fabric. The urns or cups on the lower tiers are crude, while as the higher shelves are reached, the urns are finer in design, showing a later stage of civilization.
In connection with this story, it is notable that among the Hopi Indians the tradition is told that their ancestors once lived in an underworld in the Grand Canyon till dissension arose between the good and the bad, the people of one heart and people of two hearts. Machetto, who was their chief, counselled them to leave the under world, but there was no way out.
End Of Article.
(Remember that the book "The Truth" is to show
the connection between the Hopi and Egypt.) Tom is speaking here
of the construction of the pyramids as they relate to the
motion of the Zodiac.
I might be wrong with the assumption that Tauras (the bull) is the
balance on the opposite side of the twins. Taurus is part of the string of the constillations and therefore couldn't be on the meridain path. There must be another figure in that area of the sky that I do not know of yet that matches the shafts out of the pyramids.

Huron-Wyandot Gathering
in Ossossane
August 1999
Capital of the Huron-Wyandot in 1649.
The Huron-Wyandot were living in southern Ontario region since time
immemorial. They used to live in a huge territory between Quebec and
Toronto according to the Huron-Wyandot traditions. They were free to
roam on this territory and periodically moved their villages within this
large land area.
Camp Facilities:
For this gathering, we have booked a scout camp near the former village
of Ossossane. This camp is a few minutes walking distance to the
Ossossane village. On the camp site, there are 100 tent campsites and
log cabins for the elders. People attending and planning to camp, need
to book a campsite before the first of May. (priority to stay on the
camp site will be given to the Huron-Wyandot)

"A Gathering in the Old Ways
in
Honour of our Ancient Prophets"
June 18-21, 1999
From the heart of the Red People, a vision is told. In this vision, our
continent awaits fulfillment of a plan that is holy and sacred. The
Creator has a plan for every human being to rejoice upon the land. For,
in every human spirit lives the spark of love awaiting this very plan.
The Creator calls upon all people of the world to unify in peace and to
live in harmony upon our home--Mother Earth.
In the vision, we are climbing a mountain. I look behind below the
mountain toward the land. I see the world in total chaos. I see wars
created by man where children and old people suffer the most. I see the
burning of cities, flooding of the land, winds increasing in incredible
force, major earthquakes around the world, eruptions of volcanoes, mass
starvation, sicknesses that man cannot cure, man thirsting for clean water and finally, a shower of meteorites falling from the sky hitting the Earth causing incredible damage. All of these forces halt man's destruction of the Earth. It is a time of total darkness for humanity--a darkness that has been created by man himself.
Once I reach the top of the mountain, I look below toward the land and see
that all had changed. Man has survived the darkness. The land has turned
to green, alive again. The sun is shining brightly in a deep blue sky. A
river runs by that is crystal clear, water is pure again. I see a village
with many people of different races. In the background, I can see a herd
of buffalo and horses.
Crazy Horse also said:
This gathering and fulfillment of prophecy will ensure entrance to a world
of peace and release the full forces of spirit into the univers to cleanse
the Earth and humankind. All that is negative or opposite to the true
spirit of God--Creator of all life, will not survive the cleansing of the
Earth. Hatred, greed and the separateness from the Earth and each other
will come to an end. The forces of evil in the minds of man will come to
pass from the Earth as the spirit of love through man and woman bring
peace to the Earth. Dreams and visions of peace will fill the hearts of
humankind throughout the world. Let there be peace in your heart and join
the spirit, as love brought to Earth.
