Alex Demogines of Faro will present on LiDAR scanning and point cloud animation. LiDAR is used in film, police forensics, and Architecture. LiDAR is a method of 3d scanning a scene or  environment. Film has been using scanners to capture movie sets to make computer models more accurate. Forensics have been capturing crime scenes. Architecture is beginning to use scanners to survey large buildings and to jump start computer models.

Faro has developed a phase based scanner which is said to be faster and more accurate than traditional laser pulse scanning.
