Austin 3D Users Group Meeting
Wed. Mar. 26, 2008 at 6:30 pm at ACC Highland Business Center,
5930 Middle Fiskville Rd., Austin, TX 78752(see Map).
We will be in The Boardroom, Room 201.0

Our program this month will be something special. If you want your 3d work to look more artistic, this is where to start.

Doug Prince, Art Director of NCSoft’s Core Development, will present some his methods of injecting art into 3d. He often starts with 2d painting programs to generate the original concept art before moving to the 3d world. Doug has been teaching these methods in a course at ACC and it will be of interest to everyone in our group. This is good stuff!

Doug has worked on a wide range of projects in his career and you can see some samples at his web site:

Also Rick Pumphrey from Autodesk will be attending and may bring us further information about the new release of 3ds Max 2009, which will begin shipping on/or about 3/31, about a week after our meeting. Rick may also have some news about the new modeling toolset for Maya.

This will be a good meeting.

We will have Pizza and soft drinks served at 6:30.

Also, the following Autodesk announcements may be of interest:
